Digoxin (Digitek, Lanoxicaps, Lanoxin)
Taking both digoxin and
fluvastatin appears to slightly increase the levels of digoxin in the blood. When starting fluvastatin or increasing the fluvastatin dosage, your healthcare provider may choose to monitor you more closely and adjust your digoxin dosage as necessary.
Erythromycin (Ery-Tab)
Taking fluvastatin with erythromycin may increase your risk of dangerous side effects, including myopathy and rhabdomyolysis
(see Lescol and Muscle Pain). Talk to your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.
Fibrates
Taking fluvastatin with fibrates may increase your risk of dangerous side effects, including myopathy and rhabdomyolysis
(see Lescol and Muscle Pain). Talk to your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.
Fluconazole (Diflucan)
Fluconazole and increase the level of fluvastatin in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.
Glyburide (Diabeta, Glynase, Micronase)
Taking both
glyburide and fluvastatin together may increase the level of both medications in your blood, increasing your chance of side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to monitor you more closely and adjust your dose of these medications as necessary.
Ketoconazole (Nizoral)
Theoretically, fluvastatin may decrease the level of hormones in the body. Since ketoconazole can also lower hormone levels, taking these medications together may increase your risk of problems due to low hormones. Talk to your healthcare provider before combining ketoconazole with fluvastatin.
