For children ages four and older who are using fluticasone propionate nasal spray, dosing typically starts at one spray in each nostril once daily. The recommended starting dose for adults is either two sprays in each nostril once daily or one spray in each nostril twice daily. If needed, your healthcare provider can increase or decrease your dosage.

The dose of fluticasone propionate nasal spray (Flonase^®) that your healthcare provider recommends will vary depending on a number of factors, including:

Your age
Other medications you may be taking
Other medical conditions you may have.

As is always the case, do not adjust your fluticasone propionate nasal spray dose unless your healthcare provider specifically instructs you to do so.

Fluticasone Propionate Nasal Spray Dosing for Nasal Symptoms

The recommended starting fluticasone propionate nasal spray dose for treating allergic or non-allergic nasal symptoms in adults is two sprays in each nostril once daily (four sprays total) or one spray in each nostril twice daily (also four sprays total). Your healthcare provider may recommend that you try to decrease your dose to one spray in each nostril once daily after a few days. Alternatively, your healthcare provider may recommend two sprays of fluticasone propionate once daily (four sprays total) only on the days you have symptoms.

For adolescents and children four years old and older, the recommended starting dose is one spray of fluticasone propionate nasal spray in each nostril once daily. If needed, your child's healthcare provider may increase the dose up to two sprays in each nostril once daily.

For all people, the maximum recommended fluticasone propionate nasal spray dose is two sprays in each nostril once daily.
