Flurandrenolide Cream Dosage

When treating skin conditions with flurandrenolide cream, the typical dose is a thin layer of the medicine applied on the affected areas of the skin two to three times daily. In certain cases, your healthcare provider may recommend covering the medicine with a dressing to improve absorption of the drug. However, this can also increase your risk for side effects.

An Introduction to Dosing With Flurandrenolide Cream

The standard recommended dose of flurandrenolide cream (Cordran® SP Cream) varies, depending on the severity of the condition being treated. As is the case with any medication, do not adjust your dosage unless your healthcare provider specifically tells you to do so.

Instructions for Your Flurandrenolide Cream Dosage

The standard recommended flurandrenolide cream dose for treating itching or inflammation due to a wide variety of skin conditions in adults, such as psoriasis, eczema, or allergic reactions, is a thin film applied to the affected area two to three times a day. Applying more flurandrenolide cream is not advised, as it will increase the risk of side effects.
For particularly stubborn areas, your healthcare provider may recommend that you cover flurandrenolide cream with an occlusive dressing (a barrier that doesn't let moisture through). Your healthcare provider or pharmacist can help you find an appropriate occlusive dressing. Sometimes, simply using plastic wrap (such as Saran Wrap™) and tape will work.
Do not use a dressing unless your healthcare provider specifically tells you to do so, as this increases the absorption of the drug, which increases the risk for serious flurandrenolide cream side effects.

General Information on Using Flurandrenolide Cream

Some considerations to keep in mind during treatment with flurandrenolide cream include the following:
  • Ask your healthcare provider how long you should use this medication. In general, long-term use of steroids is avoided, due to the risk of serious side effects. However, the benefits of long-term use may outweigh the risks in some situations.
  • For the medication to work properly, it must be used as prescribed.
  • If you are unsure about anything related to your dosage or flurandrenolide cream dosing in general, please talk with your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
