Fluocinonide Cream 0.05%

Eczema, dermatitis, and psoriasis are just a few of the skin conditions that may be treated with fluocinonide cream (Lidex®, Vanos®). This prescription medicine is a type of steroid and works by reducing inflammation and suppressing an overactive immune system.

Two different strengths of fluocinonide cream are available: 0.05% (Lidex) or 0.1% (Vanos). The dose your healthcare provider recommends will mainly depend on the type of skin condition being treated. The cream is usually applied to the affected areas of the skin one to four times daily. In some cases, a healthcare provider may recommend covering the area with a dressing to help improve the absorption of the drug into the bloodstream.
