Filgrastim is a prescription drug used to help prevent certain types of infections. It works by stimulating the production of neutrophils. In particular, the drug is used in the collection of stem cells and preventing infections in people undergoing chemotherapy or receiving bone marrow transplants. Side effects of filgrastim include nausea, vomiting, or bone pain.
