Generic Fexofenadine: An Overview

Fexofenadine (Allegra®) is prescribed to treat several conditions. These fexofenadine uses include:
 
Fexofenadine is marketed under the brand-name Allegra, which is manufactured by sanofi-aventis Pharmaceuticals. Allegra has come off patent, making it available as a generic drug. Generic fexofenadine is sold under the name Fexofenadine Hydrochloride tablets.
 

Fexofenadine -- Strengths

Generic Fexofenadine Hydrochloride tablets are available in the following strengths:
 
  • Fexofenadine Hydrochloride tablets 30 mg
  • Fexofenadine Hydrochloride tablets 60 mg
  • Fexofenadine Hydrochloride tablets 180 mg.

 

At this time, generic fexofenadine oral suspension (liquid) and generic fexofenadine ODT (orally disintegrating tablets) are not available. These products are available in the brand-name version (Allegra) only.
