Fexofenadine belongs to a class of medicines called antihistamines. By blocking the effects of histamine, fexofenadine reduces the symptoms of sneezing, runny nose, and irritation of the throat and eyes. The drug has been licensed for several uses, including the treatment of hay fever and chronic hives. Fexofenadine comes in tablets, orally disintegrating tablets, and oral suspension (liquid). It is generally taken once or twice a day.
