Fexofenadine is a prescription drug used to treat seasonal allergies and chronic hives. The medication reduces the symptoms of sneezing, runny nose, and irritation by blocking the effects of a chemical called histamine. In clinical studies, people taking fexofenadine experienced an improvement in symptoms between one and three hours after taking the drug.
