Oral Etoposide

Available by prescription only, etoposide comes in the form of an oral capsule or as an injection that is given slowly into a vein. Etoposide is used in combination with other chemotherapy drugs.
 
Etoposide capsules are approved to treat small cell lung cancer. The IV forms are approved to treat small cell lung cancer and testicular tumors (cancer of the testicles) that have not adequately responded to previous treatment.
 
Most people who use this medicine will develop at least one side effect. Common reactions to etoposide include nausea, hair loss, and vomiting.
