Drug Interactions With Epinastine Ophthalmic Solution

Epinastine ophthalmic solution (Elestat®) is a prescription medication approved for preventing itchy eyes due to eye allergies (known medically as allergic conjunctivitis). It comes in the form of an eye drop, and little of the medication actually reaches the bloodstream (and, therefore, the rest of the body). As a result, significant drug interactions with epinastine ophthalmic solution are not expected. This means that epinastine ophthalmic solution is unlikely to affect other medications, and other medications are unlikely to affect epinastine ophthalmic solution.

It is possible that there may be epinastine ophthalmic solution drug interactions that are currently unknown but that may be discovered at a later date. Therefore, it is always a good idea to include epinastine ophthalmic solution in your list of medications when checking for any interactions. Also, be sure to check with your healthcare provider about any possible interactions that may apply to your particular situation.
