Tobramycin Nebulizer Information

Tobramycin inhalation solution (Bethkis®, Tobi®) is an antibiotic approved for treating a certain bacterial infection in people who have cystic fibrosis. Specifically, the drug is prescribed to treat lung infections caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria.

Using an air compressor and a nebulizer, tobramycin inhalation solution turns into a fine mist that is inhaled. Dosing is the same for everyone, regardless of your age or weight -- one ampule (300 mg) twice daily for 28 days. After this time, you will have a 28-day break from the medication before starting your next 28-day treatment cycle. Your healthcare provider will let you know how many cycles you will need.

(Click Tobramycin Inhalation Solution Dosage for more information about how to use the nebulizer, when to take your dose, and other helpful dosing tips.)
