Pomalidomide Drug Information

Available by prescription only, pomalidomide (Pomalyst®) is a medicine used to treat multiple myeloma, a cancer of the plasma cells. This chemotherapy drug is approved for use in adults whose cancer has progressed despite trying at least two other anticancer medications.
 
Pomalidomide comes as a capsule that is taken once a day for 21 days, followed by a 7-day break in treatment. It is common for people who use this medicine to develop some type of side effect, such as constipation, nausea, or tiredness.
 
Because not everyone can safely use this medication, it's important to review the safety information on this product before starting treatment with pomalidomide; this includes things like possible drug interactions and side effects. Also, let your healthcare provider know if you have any other medical conditions, such as:
 
  • Kidney disease
  • Liver disease
  • Neuropathy.
