Nitroglycerin Tablet Information

A healthcare provider may prescribe nitroglycerin tablets (Nitrostat®) to help relieve attacks of chest pain (angina) in adults with coronary heart disease. This medicine is dissolved under the tongue or between the gum and cheek at the start of an angina attack. It can also be used to prevent chest pain when taken 5 to 10 minutes before physical activity that is expected to cause chest pain.
