Gabapentin Enacarbil Drug Information

Gabapentin enacarbil (HorizantTM) is a medication used to treat restless legs syndrome (RLS). It is a long-acting form of gabapentin that is taken just once a day, typically around 5 p.m. Commonly reported side effects of this prescription medicine include drowsiness and dizziness.
 
Although the drug is generally well tolerated, it is not suitable for everyone. Before using gabapentin enacarbil, make sure your healthcare provider has up-to-date information on your medical history and a list of your current medications. In particular, make sure to let your healthcare provider know if you have problems such as kidney disease, cancer, or a history of suicidal thoughts or actions.
