Flunisolide for Allergies

Two different forms of flunisolide are available:

The inhaler version of flunisolide is approved to prevent asthma attacks, while the nasal spray is approved to treat a stuffy, irritated, or runny nose due to allergies. When used for allergies, flunisolide is sprayed directly into the nose, usually two or three times a day. This not only helps reduce inflammation associated with allergies and other conditions, but exposes the rest of the body to lower steroid levels, compared to steroids taken by mouth or injection. This helps reduce or eliminate many of the side effects associated with long-term steroid use.
