Drug Interactions With Dextromethorphan and Quinidine

Dienogest/Estradiol
Dextromethorphan and quinidine may increase your blood levels of dienogest, potentially increasing your risk for side effects. Talk to your healthcare provider about this potential interaction before taking these medications together.
 
Digoxin
Dextromethorphan and quinidine may increase digoxin blood levels, potentially increasing the risk for digoxin side effects or toxicity. If you take these medications together, your healthcare provider may need to monitor your digoxin level, which can be done with a simple blood test.
 
Dutasteride
Dextromethorphan and quinidine may increase the levels of dutasteride in your blood, potentially increasing your risk for dutasteride side effects. Your healthcare provider may choose to monitor you more closely for side effects if you take these medications together.
 
Eplerenone
Combining eplerenone with dextromethorphan and quinidine may increase the amount of eplerenone in your body, increasing your risk for potentially serious side effects. In general, these medications should not be taken together.
 
Ergot Medications
Taking dextromethorphan and quinidine with an ergot medication can increase your risk for a serious reaction known as serotonin syndrome (see Precautions and Warnings With Dextromethorphan and Quinidine for more information, including symptoms of serotonin syndrome). Talk to your healthcare provider before taking these medications together. Call your healthcare provider right away if you have any symptoms of serotonin syndrome.
 
Everolimus
Combining everolimus with dextromethorphan and quinidine may increase the amount of everolimus in your body, increasing your risk for potentially serious side effects. In general, these medications should not be taken together.
