Combining dextromethorphan and quinidine with alfuzosin can increase alfuzosin blood levels, increasing your risk for potentially serious side effects. In most cases, these medications should not be taken together.
Dextromethorphan and quinidine may increase levels of alosetron in your blood, increasing your risk for alosetron side effects. Your healthcare provider may want to monitor you more closely if you take these medications together.
Taking dextromethorphan and quinidine with an amphetamine or an amphetamine-like medication can increase your risk for a serious reaction known as serotonin syndrome (see Precautions and Warnings With Dextromethorphan and Quinidine for more information, including symptoms of serotonin syndrome). Talk to your healthcare provider before taking these medications together. Call your healthcare provider right away if you have any symptoms of serotonin syndrome.
Taking antacids with dextromethorphan and quinidine may decrease the amount of dextromethorphan and quinidine absorbed into your body, potentially decreasing its effectiveness.
