Drug Interactions With Dexlansoprazole
There are several medications that dexlansoprazole can interact with, including digoxin, ampicillin, iron, and ketoconazole. Dexlansoprazole may decrease the absorption of these various medications into the body, perhaps making them less effective. It is important to talk to your healthcare provider about potential drug interactions before starting GERD treatment.
Dexlansoprazole (Dexilant™) can potentially interact with a few other medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to drug interactions with dexlansoprazole include (but are not limited to):
- Ampicillin
- Atazanavir (Reyataz®)
- Clopidogrel (Plavix®)
- Digoxin (Digitek®, Lanoxin®)
- Certain diuretics, including:
- Bumetanide (Bumex®)
- Chlorothiazide (Diuril®)
- Chlorthalidone (Thalitone®)
- Ethacrynic acid (Edecrin®)
- Furosemide (Lasix®)
- Hydrochlorothiazide (Esidrix®, HydroDIURIL®, Microzide®, Oretic®)
- Metolazone (Zaroxolyn®)
- Torsemide (Demadex®)
- Iron
- Ketoconazole (Nizoral®)
- Methotrexate (Rheumatrex®, Trexall®)
- Tacrolimus (Prograf®, Protopic®)
- Warfarin (Coumadin®, Jantoven®).
