Dexlansoprazole

Dexlansoprazole is a medication commonly used for treating GERD and erosive esophagitis. It is available by prescription only and comes in the form of a capsule that should be taken once a day. Dexlansoprazole (Kapidex^™) is a prescription medication approved to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and erosive esophagitis (a severe form of GERD in which the lining of the esophagus becomes inflamed and ulcerated).

Potential Side Effects

As with any medicine, dexlansoprazole can cause side effects. However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience side effects. Most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or can easily be treated by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.

Common dexlansoprazole side effects include, but are not limited to:

Diarrhea
Abdominal pain (stomach pain)
Nausea
Upper respiratory tract infection (such as the common cold)
Vomiting
Gas.
