Dexlansoprazole Dosage

The usual recommended dosage of dexlansoprazole for treating erosive esophagitis is 60 mg once daily for up to eight weeks. After the healing process, you may continue with a lower dose (such as 30 mg daily) to help prevent the condition from returning. The recommended dose for the treatment of heartburn due to GERD is 30 mg once daily for four weeks.

Dexlansoprazole Dosage: An Introduction

The dose of dexlansoprazole (Kapidex) that your healthcare provider recommends will vary, depending on a number of factors, including:

  • How you respond to dexlansoprazole
  • Other medications you are taking
  • Other medical conditions you may have.

As is always the case, do not adjust your dosage unless your healthcare provider specifically instructs you to do so.

Dosage for Heartburn

The recommended dexlansoprazole dosage for treating heartburn due to gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) without esophageal erosions is 30 mg once daily for four weeks.

Dosage for Erosive Esophagitis

The recommended dosage for helping to heal erosive esophagitis (a severe form of GERD) is dexlansoprazole 60 mg once daily for up to eight weeks. After the healing process, dexlansoprazole may be continued at a lower dosage (30 mg once daily) to help prevent the condition from returning.
