Desoximetasone Cream Side Effects

Some of the possible side effects of desoximetasone cream may include skin irritation, such as burning, itching, and dryness. These types of reactions are usually minor and easily treated. However, there are also some problems that are potentially serious and should be reported to a healthcare provider right away, including infections, hallucinations, or severe fluid retention.

An Introduction to Side Effects of Desoximetasone Cream

Just like any medicine, desoximetasone cream (Topicort®) can cause side effects. However, not everyone who uses the medication will have problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider.

Desoximetasone Cream Side Effects to Report

Some side effects of desoximetasone cream are potentially serious and should be reported immediately to your healthcare provider. These include but are not limited to:
 
  • High blood pressure (hypertension)
  • High blood sugar (hyperglycemia) or diabetes
  • Infections
  • Ruptured tendons
  • Psychotic reactions, such as hallucinations or extreme aggression
  • Glaucoma
  • Severe fluid retention
  • Signs of an allergic reaction, such as:
 
    • An unexplained rash
    • Hives
    • Itching
    • Unexplained swelling
    • Difficulty breathing or swallowing.
