Desonide (Desonate®, DesOwen®, Verdeso®) is approved for the treatment of many different skin conditions characterized by inflammation, including eczema, contact dermatitis, and psoriasis. It works by suppressing the immune system and decreasing inflammation.
It is important to use desonide exactly as your healthcare provider recommends and for no longer than two to four weeks. Long-term treatment increases the risk of side effects, so if your symptoms persist, tell your healthcare provider right away.
