Precautions and Warnings With Desloratadine and Pseudoephedrine

There are many precautions and warnings with desloratadine and pseudoephedrine to be mindful of before taking the drug. People with an overactive thyroid, coronary heart disease, or enlarged prostate should talk with a doctor prior to taking this combination drug. Other precautions and warnings with desloratadine and pseudoephedrine include the fact that it is a pregnancy Category C drug and may present a risk to an unborn child.

 

What Should I Tell My Healthcare Provider?

You should talk with your healthcare provider prior to taking desloratadine and pseudoephedrine (Clarinex-D®) if you have:
 
Let your healthcare provider know if you:
 
  • Are pregnant or are thinking about becoming pregnant
  • Are breastfeeding
  • Have any allergies, including allergies to desloratadine and pseudoephedrine, Clarinex®, Sudafed®, Claritin®, or adrenergic medicines.
     
Also, tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
 
Finally, make sure to contact your healthcare provider or 911 immediately if you experience any difficulty breathing or swallowing.
