Cordran Lotion Dosage

In many cases, the starting dosage of Cordran Lotion is a thin layer of the lotion applied on the affected areas of the skin two to three times a day. Your particular dosing instructions, however, will depend on the specific skin condition being treated. Talk to your healthcare provider about the length of time you should use this medicine.

An Introduction to Dosing With Cordran Lotion

The standard recommended dose for Cordran® Lotion (flurandrenolide lotion) varies, depending on the condition being treated. As is always the case, do not adjust your dosage unless your healthcare provider specifically tells you to do so.

Cordran Lotion Dosage for Skin Conditions

The standard starting dose for treating itching or inflammation due to a wide variety of skin conditions (such as psoriasis, eczema, or allergic reactions) in adults is a thin film of the medication applied to the affected areas of the skin two to three times a day.
For stubborn areas, your healthcare provider may recommend that you cover Cordran Lotion with an occlusive dressing (a barrier that prevents any moisture from getting through). Your healthcare provider or pharmacist can help you find an appropriate occlusive dressing. Sometimes, simply using plastic wrap (such as Saran Wrap™) and tape will work.
However, do not use a dressing unless your healthcare provider specifically tells you to do so, as this increases the absorption of the drug and increases the risk for serious Cordran Lotion side effects.

General Information on Using Cordran Lotion

Some considerations to keep in mind during treatment with Cordran Lotion include the following:
  • Ask your healthcare provider how long you should use this medication. In general, long-term use of steroids is usually not recommended, due to the risk for serious side effects. However, the benefits of long-term use may outweigh the risks in some situations.
  • For the medication to work properly, it must be used as prescribed.
  • If you are unsure about anything related to your Cordran Lotion dosage, please talk to your healthcare provider or pharmacist.
