Drug Interactions With Colestipol

Certain medications may cause drug interactions with colestipol, including thiazide diuretics, tetracycline, and hydrocortisone. These drugs may bind with colestipol in the intestines, which prevents them from getting fully absorbed into the body. To help prevent drug interactions with colestipol, these and other medications may be taken at least an hour before or four to six hours after you take your colestipol dosage.

Propranolol
Colestipol may bind with propranolol in the intestines, preventing it from getting completely absorbed into the body. It is recommended that you take propranolol at least one hour before or four to six hours after you take your colestipol to avoid this interaction.
