Claforen

To treat or prevent certain types of infections, a healthcare provider may prescribe Claforan® (cefotaxime). The medication is used for treating infections caused by certain types of bacteria, and is approved for use in adults and children as young as newborns.
 
Claforan is available in various strengths and is given as an intramuscular (IM) injection or as an intravenous (IV) injection. Your dosage will be determined based on your age and weight, the type and severity of the infection, and how well your kidneys are functioning, among other factors.
