It's a good idea to become familiar with precautions and warnings with Cesia before taking this form of birth control. For example, you should talk with your healthcare provider prior to taking it if you have depression, diabetes, or high blood pressure. Precautions and warnings with Cesia also apply to women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Cesia: What Should I Tell My Healthcare Provider?

You should talk with your healthcare provider prior to using Cesia (desogestrel/ethinyl estradiol) if you have:

  • Will be having surgery
  • Smoke cigarettes
  • Are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant
  • Are breastfeeding.
     
You should also be sure to tell your healthcare provider about all other medicines you are taking, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
