Carfilzomib and Renal Function

Before you can use carfilzomib (Kyprolis™), your healthcare provider will ask about your renal function. Specifically, he or she will need to determine whether you have a history of kidney disease or kidney failure. In some cases, people who have problems with their kidneys may need a lower carfilzomib dosage or may need to be monitored more closely.

You will also need to drink plenty of fluids during carfilzomib treatment to help your kidneys function normally. Your healthcare provider may give you IV fluids before and after your doses. Ask your healthcare provider how much fluid you should consume each day.
