Generic Bromfenac Dosing

Bromfenac ophthalmic solution (Bromday®, Prolensa™, Xibrom®) is prescribed for use in people getting cataract surgery. These prescription eye drops are used to help reduce eye inflammation and pain caused by the surgery.

This medicine comes as three products: Bromday, Prolensa, and Xibrom. Although Bromday and Prolensa are only available in brand-name form, there are generic versions of Xibrom. Dosing guidelines for bromfenac will vary, depending on which product you are using.

In general, these eye drops are used once or twice daily. One drop is applied to the affected eye(s), starting the day before the surgery. The medicine is used the day of the surgery and continued for 14 days after the surgery.
