Available in the form of an injection, Berinert® (C1 esterase inhibitor) is a medicine prescribed for use right after a sudden attack of hereditary angioedema (HAE). This rare genetic condition causes swelling of various areas of the body, such as the face, abdomen (stomach area), and larynx (voice box or throat).
