Belatacept in Children

Belatacept (NULOJIX®) is a medicine prescribed to prevent organ rejection following a kidney transplant. It comes in the form of an intravenous (IV) injection and works by weakening the immune system so that it does not attack the newly transplanted kidney.

This medicine is approved for use in adults age 18 and older; the use of belatacept in children younger than 18 years old has not been adequately studied. Make sure to talk to your child's healthcare provider about the risks and benefits of using belatacept in children.
