Optivar®) is a prescription eye drop approved for eye
allergy treatment. Significant drug interactions with this medication are not expected. Very little of the medication actually reaches the bloodstream and the rest of the body. As a result,
azelastine ophthalmic solution is unlikely to affect other medications, and other medications are unlikely to affect azelastine ophthalmic solution.
It is possible that there are currently unknown azelastine ophthalmic solution drug interactions that may be discovered at a later date. Therefore, it is always a good idea to include azelastine ophthalmic solution in your list of medications when checking for any interactions.
