Precautions and Warnings With Aranelle

There are several precautions and warnings with Aranelle to be aware of before using this form of contraception. For instance, Aranelle can make certain health conditions worse, such as gallbladder disease, high blood pressure, and depression. You should not use Aranelle if you have heart disease, a blood clotting disorder, or liver tumors. It is also important to know that Aranelle can increase your risk of blood clots, strokes, and heart attacks.

Aranelle: What Should I Tell My Healthcare Provider?

You should talk with your healthcare provider prior to using Aranelle™ (norethindrone/ethinyl estradiol) if you have:

Had a heart attack or stroke
Had a blood clot or a clotting disorder
High cholesterol
Gallbladder disease
High blood pressure (hypertension)
Diabetes
Depression
Migraines or other severe headaches
Chest pain (angina)
Problems with your heart valves
Had yellowing of the whites of the eyes or skin (jaundice) during a prior pregnancy or oral contraceptive use
Liver disease, such as liver failure, cirrhosis, hepatitis, or liver tumors
Cancer (or if you have had cancer in the past)
Unexplained vaginal bleeding.

Also, let your healthcare provider know if you:

Smoke cigarettes
Are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant
Are breastfeeding.

You should also make sure to tell your healthcare provider about any other medications you are taking, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
