Who Should Not Take Aprepitant?

You should not take aprepitant if you:
 
  • Are allergic to aprepitant, Emend, or any inactive components used to make the medication. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
     
  • Are taking any of the following medications that may cause life-threatening interactions with aprepitant:
o Astemizole (Hismanal®)
o Cisapride (Propulsid®)
o Pimozide (Orap®)
o Terfenadine (Seldane®).
