Information on Afinitor

Afinitor® (everolimus) is a drug prescribed to slow down the progression of certain types of cancers and tumors. This medicine is available as a tablet and is typically taken once daily.
Afinitor works by blocking the action of certain enzymes in the body that regulate cell function, including cell growth. By blocking these enzymes, the medication can help slow down the growth of cancer cells.
Although the medicine is generally well tolerated, it is not suitable for everyone. Before using Afinitor, make sure your healthcare provider has up-to-date information on your medical history and a list of your current medications. In particular, let your healthcare provider know if you have diabetes, a history of hepatitis B, or any problems with your kidneys or liver.
