Afinitor Dosing

If your healthcare provider has prescribed
Afinitor® (everolimus), the dosing guidelines will depend on the medical condition being treated, other medications you are taking, and various other factors.

The typical recommended dose of Afinitor for treating advanced pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor (PNET) and advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is 10 mg once daily. This amount may be adjusted if you are taking certain medications or have liver disease. For treating subependymal giant cell astrocytoma (SEGA), a rare type of brain tumor, the Afinitor dose ranges between 2.5 mg and 7.5 mg daily.

Afinitor comes in tablet form and is typically taken once daily. You can take it with food or on an empty stomach; however, take each dose the same way every time. Although you should not cut, chew, or crush the tablets, you can dissolve them in water if you have problems swallowing the tablets.
