Adapalene (
Differin®) is unlikely to cause serious interactions with other medications.
Because this prescription medicine is applied to the skin, it can be irritating to the skin, especially at first
(see Side Effects of Adapalene). Be cautious about using adapalene with other skin products that are irritating to the skin, as this could further exacerbate any irritation that occurs. In fact, it's a good idea to develop a complete skin care plan with your healthcare provider, making sure to discuss all possible skin products you should use (including sunscreen, cleansers, moisturizes, cosmetics, etc.).
Although adapalene is unlikely to interact seriously with other medications, it's still a good idea to ask about any drug interactions that may apply to your particular situation. If you must apply other skin products that may be potentially irritating, ask your healthcare provider about whether these can be used with adapalene (or if you must temporarily stop using the other products).
