Adapalene Gel

Available only by prescription, adapalene (Differin®) is a medication approved to treat acne. It is available in various strengths and comes in the form of a lotion, cream, and gel. Adapalene is typically applied in a thin layer to the affected area once daily, just before bedtime.
 
It is important not to use more than a small amount of this medication, as it could increase your risk of skin irritation and does not increase the effectiveness of the medication. Although most people tolerate this medication well, side effects are possible and may include skin burning, redness, or scaling.
